About
Helping communities feel like communities.
Communities thrive when people feel they belong — and that doesn’t happen by accident. Community Engagement Project is about making it happen on purpose.
We started by building digital boards for synagogues. Screens turned out to be one way to help people feel more connected to a community — but only one.
So the work is wider now: practical ideas on what helps people belong and take part, tools like screens where they help, a full-year programme for communities ready to go deeper, and — still in development — a simple way for any community to measure whether engagement is really improving.
We keep things practical: plain advice, and honesty about what’s worth doing — including when the answer is ‘not that’.
What we hold to
Belonging first
The aim is people feeling part of something — not louder announcements or fuller noticeboards.
Practical, not theoretical
Ideas you can try this month, and honest advice when something isn’t worth doing.
Measured, not guessed
Wherever we can, we start from a baseline and check whether what you tried made a difference.
Tell us about your community
A short message is enough to get started. We’ll come back with questions and ideas.
